Candidates Lists

When a candidate is initially retrieved they reside in the Candiate List. This section demonstrates some of the basic functions of the software and how candidates are prioritized. You can learn more about viewing candidate lists, the candidate icon legend, and candidate status information. Look for the Information and FAQ Micro Icons that will link you to more related infromation on the subject.

Promote a Candidate to a Hotlist or Worklist

There are three ways that a candidate can be promoted into a Hotlist or a Worklist. Candidates can be:

  • Linked to a job or jobs using the "Link candidate to jobs" dialog window, or by using a drag and drop method and dropping them onto the Hotlist or Worklist icon of a job in the organizational tree.
  • Tracked against a job or jobs (this automatically promotes them into the Hotlist or Worklist of the job or jobs they are being tracked against).
  • Directly promoted into the Hotlist or Worklist (in a linked search only) by clicking on the appropriate status button on the candidate pane or dialog.
! By right-clicking on a candidate in a candidate list, you can perform all the actions against a candidate.

Link Candidates to a Job

Link a candidate to a job using the Link feature.
To link a candidate to a job:

  1. Highlight a candidate name and right-click to access the pop-up menu.
  2. Select Link to Job to activate the "Link Candidate to Jobs" dialog window.
  3. Check the job check boxes that you want to link that candidate with and click Link.

Rejecting a candidate from a query will also remove them from the Hotlist or Worklist of that job.

Delete Candiates

TalentHook provides you with the option to delete candidates or entire candidate lists. When you delete a candidate from a candidate list you only remove them from that list. If they are in the Hotlist or Worklist of another job, they will remain on those lists.

! Deleting a candidate does not keep that candidate from returning to your candidate list when you run a refresh. To do this, you must reject the candidate.

Purge Candidates

The purge list feature allows you to purge all of the candidates, just the new candidates or just the rejected candidates, in one simple step. To activate the "Purge List" feature, highlight the query you wish to purge from and click Purge List. Select one of the three options from the drop-down menu.

Depending on your settings in preferences rejected candidates will be handled in one of two ways:
  • they will not be brought back in subsequent queries linked to this job.
  • they will be brought back by subsequent queries linked to this job, however, they will be marked rejected for your easy recognition.

Candidate Status

You can organize and prioritize candidates by placing them in a Hotlist or Worklist, linking them to another job or rejecting them. TalentHook automatically assigns status words that appear next to candidate names in the candidate list:

  • Hotlist (status given to candidate by user)
  • Worklist (status given to candidate by user)
  • New (candidates retrieved by the most recent query or refresh)
  • None (candidates retrieved prior to the most recent refresh)
  • Reject (status given to candidate by user)

!

Rejects can be eliminated from queries by checking the desired radio button under Search Settings in the Preferences tab of the "TalentHook Settings" dialog window. If you choose to automatically discard rejected candidates, TalentHook will reject these candidates from future searches as well.
