Importing a Candidate
TalentHook allows you to create or import a new candidate from a variety of sources. Create a new candidate manually using the "New Candidate Wizard."
To activate the "New Candidate Wizard," select New in the File drop-down menu on the main tool bar. Select Candidate in the drop-down menu. You will be presented with the "New Candidate Wizard."

This wizard will guide you through creating a new candidate.
Step 1: New candidate info
Type the candidate's name, email address, source and click Next.
Step 2: New candidate resume
Perform the following tasks and click Next.
- Associate the new candidate's resume with keywords so that when you view the resume in the future, you can quickly reference this important information. To associate a resume with keywords, enter or select them in the drop-down menu. To enter a phrase (two or more words, such as "Visual Basic"), use quotes.

- To import a resume use one of the following methods:
- Click Import and select the type of file you want to import. The following types of files can be imported using this method:
- Text File (*.txt)
- HTML File (*.htm, *.html)
- Rich Text Format (*.rtf)
- Word Document (*.doc)
- Copy and paste resume text into the import field using ctrl+c to copy and ctrl+v to paste.
Step 3: New candidate jobs
You can link a new candidate to a job in the Link to screen of the "New Candidate Wizard." Check the job(s) you want to link the candidate to, click in the Hotlist or Worklist column if you want to place the candidate into one of these lists and click Finish.
